Online registration is now closed. You can still register in person at the venue.

 
Registration Onsite

The registration desks are in the entrance area at the ICC on Level 4. The opening times are:
Saturday 5 September: 08:00–20:30
Sunday 6 September: 08:00–18:30
Monday 7 September: 08:30–18:30
Tuesday 8 September: 08:30–14:30

Onsite registrations are possible during the registration desk opening hours. Payment onsite is possible with credit cards (euro) and in cash (only British pounds and euro are accepted). When registering at reduced fees, please present a valid proof of status. For the registration desk and for information during the conference, please call: +44 121 335 8400.

Access to all conference activities is subject to registration. Participants were encouraged to register as early as possible in order to benefit from lower registration fees. Please note: all registration fees (including workshops) are subject to 20% UK VAT. See VAT Notice. Online registration closed on 2 September at 23:59 CEST. Onsite registration at the venue is possible.

Fees include:

  • admission to all scientific sessions, poster area & exhibition
  • lunch & coffee breaks on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
  • a conference bag & materials
  • Welcome drinks on Saturday evening and Closing Address on Tuesday

+ Participants who submitted abstracts by 10 June and whose abstracts are accepted, are eligible for the early registration fee. Upon confirmation of acceptance, participants will receive a special booking code to be entered in the registration system to ensure the early rate is applied. These confirmations will be sent out in July.
Registration / Confirmation / Cancellation
Deadline for early bird registration is 10 June 2015, deadline for pre-registration is 19 August 2015. Registration and services booked can only be confirmed upon receipt of credit card details. In case of cancellation of participation until 10 June 2015, registration fees will be refunded. A handling fee of € 20.00 per person will apply. The registration is non-refundable after that date. Name changes incur a handling fee of € 10.00 per registration. In case of no-show or early departure no refund of registration fees will be made. The organizers will only accept request for refunds if they are in writing. Should you have any special requests for the processing of your invoice, kindly let us know when submitting your registration form. The re-issuing of an invoice incurs a € 10.00 handling fee.
!! Invited Speakers do NOT need to register nor make their own accommodation arrangements. The programme office organises this for them.

VAT NOTICE

Conferences taking place in the United Kingdom are classed under VAT legislation as 'services' and therefore VAT is chargeable at source. All registration fees (including workshops) are subject to 20% UK VAT.

Please note that The EMBO Meeting 2015 organisers must apply VAT under UK law. The organisers can only issue a VAT receipt and cannot become involved in further issues involving VAT rebates.

Institute/organisation registrations

  • If you register through your institute/organisation which is VAT registered within the UK, the normal VAT procedures apply. 20% VAT will be added and will be reimbursed by declaring them in the institute’s/organisation’s respective tax declaration. Please check internally with your appropriate finance department for more details.
  • If you register through your institute/organisation which is VAT registered within the EU but not the UK, reverse charge procedures apply. The valid VAT-ID number MUST be included on the registration form then no VAT will be added. Please check internally with your appropriate finance department for more details. 
  • If your institute/organisation is registered outside the EU, reverse charge procedures apply and no VAT will be added - a VAT ID Number is not mandatory. 

Individual / private Registrations

  • Individual participants registering privately must pay VAT. 
  • You MAY be able to reclaim VAT charges depending on where you live. For more information, please consult the UK government website VAT notice 723A.
  • Some institutes/organisations/companies have a reclaim system in place. Please enquire internally with the appropriate finance department.
  • As VAT reclaim issues are complex, the organisers would strongly encourage you to investigate VAT refund policies and procedures as they pertain to you and your organisation, BEFORE your departure for the conference.
